Father's Day Camping Weekend

So we picked up our new trailer Friday afternoon, and by 6pm that evening we were already at a campground ready for the weekend!  We ended up at a campground called Cochiti Lake, about an hour from our house.  It was weird because it was on a huge lake, right smack in the middle of the desert!  We didn't make a reservation at the campground, and we quickly learned that you need to make one, atleast 2 weeks in advance, otherwise you end up in the old part of the campground, far far away from the lake & playground.  (We didn't even know they had a playground until we saw it on our drive out this morning!)  - And we even took Molly & Arnold for a LONG walk, and never came across it!  Our campsite was kinda blah, very desert-y, kind of rough terrain, and we were on a hill, Molls had a tough time getting around to play.  And don't get me started on Arnold!  The dog didn't poop all weekend!  It's like he had travel anxiety!  He barked at everyone.....camping is definitely something he is going to need to get used to!  Another downside to our weekend was we were not able to have a campfire (I know right?)  But that wasn't the fault of the campground.  Due to the ridiculous amounts of wildfires going on in New Mexico, the whole state is under a "no fire" rule.  So, no roasting marshmallows, or hotdogs on the fire!  Luckily, we could do our cooking in the trailer.  Other than not loving our campsite, we would definitely go back to Cochiti, (only, we would make a reservation so we could be in the newer part near lake & playground)  :)  Below are some pics from the weekend!  We can't wait to get out camping again this weekend coming up!  We're going to (make a reservation) :) at a campground up more in the mountains, so hopefully we'll get that forest-y feel!  Enjoy the pics!

Our holidays in Dawson

Our trip to Dawson Creek was amazing!  We were so excited to get back up there to see our friends!  Doug, Suzy and their son Carter picked us up from the airport, and even though we haven't seen them in a year, we picked up right where we left off!  We stayed at their beautiful new home  (When we moved away from Dawson, their new house was being built, so it was our first time seeing it done, and it's gorgeous!)
Their son Carter was kind enough to share his toys and space with Molly, and they got along great!  Carter is about 5 months older than Molly, and seriously probably one of the funniest kids I've ever met!  He has such a bright and funny personality!  There might be an arranged marriage in his and Mollys future! :)
The first weekend we were there, we took their holiday trailer out to our friends Lee and Tim's house.  (Tim owns the hunting store in Dawson) and I met Lee through Suzy. (Both of these ladies were also who I went chicken hunting with!!)  Lee and Tim live on a lake, so we parked in their yard and had a really fun weekend!  They also have 2 greater swiss mountain dogs, and Molly treated them just as she treats Arnold, petting them, laying on them etc.  Lee and Tim have two kiddos, Steele who is 3 and Tymber who is 6 days older than Molly!  It was soo hard to see Steele so grown up!  When we left, he was just a year old!  He's a totally different kid now!  But he's such a little gentleman!  It was our first time meeting Tymber, and she's such a doll!  She's the most outgoing, little daredevil I've ever met!  The kids played great, I hate to report, but Molls was kind of a whiner around all the kids at times, but I think she was just a little out of her element!  She got used to it all, and I just know they will all be friends forever!
While Suzy and I were camping out at Lee and Tim's, Gunnar and Doug went off for a little weekend bear hunt.  They had a lot of fun, they saw lots of grizzly and black bears.
We camped again in Tumbler Ridge, which is a town about an hour outside of Dawson, and it was a lot of fun!  Doug brought his river boat, and we boated to a beautiful waterfall.
Overall, the trip was awesome!  Catching up with friends, going out to dinner, camping etc. We definitely agree, we can't go that long without getting back up there for another visit! Thanks for such a fun "holiday" guys! ~  Enjoy the pics!

Right when we got to their house, the kiddos played in Carter's bouncy house!
