Baby Shower

My friend Nikki was kind enough to throw me a baby shower a couple weekends ago!  It was nice to get together with a few friends to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Miss Maci!  I took some pictures of the decor, and some stuff Nikki made, it was such a fun party!!

Potty Training

The weekend of New Years we decided was the lucky weekend we would begin the potty training process!  Molly has been showing signs of readiness, and with it being a three day weekend for Gunnar, we figured it was the perfect time to do so! She woke up Saturday morning, and was put right in underwear!  It was the first time she had ever put a pair of underwear on, and we just reminded her every 10-15 minutes to tell mommy or daddy when she needed to go potty.  We learned during the process, that she really needed to take her mind off of the whole "going" part of going potty, so we had to put her little potty seat out in the family room, with a basket of books/toys to distract her!  After a handful of accidents, and having to switch from using the big potty, to getting a little potty seat, she really took to it well!  I am happy to report that since the process has started, she hasn't had an accident in over 2 weeks! (And she actually goes to the bathroom in the bathroom and not on a potty seat in the family room!) haha  We are so proud of her!  She still sleeps in a pull up, so I'm not going to claim she's 100% trained, but she's doing great!  She's in underwear all day, we can go out to stores, ride in the car etc and if she has to go she's great about telling me!  Way to go Molly!

The Holidays

Happy New Year everyone!  I am Finally getting around to blogging our holidays!  We had a wonderful Christmas this year!  Uncle Wyatt came out to visit from Dec 22-26, we hung out with friends, and had a wonderful visit from Santa Claus!

I'll start off with our visit to see Santa at the mall.  Last year, Molly was NOT a fan of the big guy, but this year, leading up to our visit, she aways seemed so excited to talk about him, see his pictures in books or on TV.  She even said she wanted Santa to bring her a "princess tent" (where do kids get these ideas from!)  So we got her dressed up in her Christmas dress, headed to the mall, and sure enough not a tear was shed!  She didn't smile at all throughout the visit, but she was able to get out a "hi"  tell him she wanted the princess tent, and a "bye" inbetween pictures too! So it was a success!!!

Moving on....Christmas Eve/Day was  lot of fun!  We made sure to leave cookies out for Santa, and in the morning Molly came down to lots of new toys!  I cooked Christmas dinner for our friends the Beals, and it turned out great!  We had a nice prime rib, creamed corn, green bean casserole, and homemade mashed potatoes!  it was delicious!
